Xero Training & Support

Julianne Reynolds PNW Fabrications Limited

Julianne looks after the bookkeeping for her husband’s business.

Julianne’s husband went from being a sole trader to a Limited company and needed to comply with Making Tax Digital. Julianne chose Xero accounting software as she felt that was more suitable for a small business than Sage which was more expensive.

She admits she is not a bookkeeper and she has been using Xero for about 10 months. She did not have a proper understanding of nominal codes and as a result she made lots of mistakes. These mistakes were not identified until the information was viewed by her accountant at the year end.

She became very worried that she just did not understand it all. She knew she had to learn about it. Her accountant wanted her to use Sage, but she wanted to stay with Xero and went online to look for help.

Julianne found Sue as a result of a Google search. She found Sue was very approachable and talked to her in a language she understood with no jargon. Sue did all the training remotely due to COVID. She was patient and took the time to explain everything the accountant had told her. Julianne felt very reassured.

Julianne now loves Xero – she knows that Sue is at the end of the phone if she needs help.

Julianne would recommend Sue to others as she is approachable and extremely knowledgeable on Xero. She explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. Sue always returns messages and has saved Julianne on her monthly premiums too.

Ana Sabin – Cleanse a Drive

Ana is company secretary at Cleanse A Drive – a family business established over 20 years ago. Ana manages the accounts for the business

Ana had been using Sage for many years and was very comfortable with it until Making Tax Digital came in. She needed to get everything set up to file returns online and she did not know how to do it. Ana had looked at tutorials with Sage but found them very expensive. Ana had known Sue for some time, so she was the first point of contact to get the help she needed. Ana wanted to ensure that she got everything set up correctly.

Sue helped Ana to get everything set up on Sage for Making Tax Digital. Ana had also experienced a lot of issues with reconciling charge cards used by team members. Sue recommended Receipt Bank. Ana had looked at Receipt Bank but had dismissed it due to cost. Sue was able to offer Ana a discounted price for Receipt Bank which has resulted in the company saving both time and money in the reconciling of the charge cards.

Ana chose to work with Sue because she is very flexible, she understands small businesses and their mindset. Sue’s knowledge is invaluable, she always returns calls and if she cannot offer an immediate solution, she will always research it and come back with the answer. Sue has years of experience, is very helpful and has a very human, down to earth approach.

Ana is very happy to recommend Sue and hopes Sue gets the recognition she deserves. Sue is not about the money she is about helping you and sorting out issues as they arise.

Sage Online Training & Support

Anna Scougal – Eco-Wright Energy

Anna joined her husband’s business 1 year ago and was tasked with ensuring the company was compliant with Making Tax Digital. Anna is a lorry driver by trade so accounts are not her area of expertise. Anna used Sage online and had done her best to get it all sorted but this had resulted in huge costs with the accountant to put everything right.

Anna was really struggling she did not know what she was doing and didn’t have anyone to help. Anna was recommended to Sue by Sue’s partner. Sue worked closely with Anna to ensure that all the issues were resolved and worked at a pace that was comfortable for Anna to help her to gain a better understanding. Anna liked that Sue was always at the end of the phone if she felt unsure of anything.

Anna feels she is a work in progress with Sage – she admits to still not liking it and is considering moving to Xero when their financial year ends.

Anna would highly recommend Sue to others – she is really helpful and always there when you need her. Sue has also gone the extra mile to help Anna get their accounts up to date in a very short period of time to enable them to purchase a house. Without Sue’s support they would not have been in a position to do this.

QuickBooks Implementation

Steve Mawson – Mawson Floors

Steve runs his own flooring business

Steve had always worked with a traditional bookkeeper until Making Tax Digital came in and he chose to use Quick Books. This was all new to Steve, he was apprehensive of change and thought it would cost him more and he would not be any better off.

Sue worked with Steve remotely due to COVID restrictions – they worked through it together to ensure everything was set up correctly. As Steve started using the software in his day to day business, he liked the fact that Sue was always at the end of the phone if he had any issues or queries.

Steve has found using Quick Books has been a big improvement to his business. He now has important financial information at his fingertips which he never had before. He was sceptical at the start, but he now admits that he would not want to go back to the old way of working. He has also found by having more control he has saved money too.

Steve has retained Sue to check over everything for him month to month and likes that Sue can also access the software remotely.

Steve found Sue very confident and enthusiastic. She was very easy to get on with and is highly regarded by mutual contacts. Steve has already recommended RixGreen to other businesses.

Why Xero is The Best Option for Small Business Owners

How many SMEs rely on their administration team to look after the interests of the business?

It’s okay you can admit it; you’re in a safe space here.

So many of us overload administrators with tasks that they have received no formal training for. Accounting and bookkeeping is a prime example. As part of the daily duties, many team members are tasked with primary accounting responsibilities. They may have received minimal instruction from the company’s accountant but were then left to their own devices.

As a business owner, it can be imperative that your financial data is accessible at a moment’s notice. Will your administrator know how to obtain this information? Probably not.

I see this happening time and again in offices across the UK. Your hardworking admin staff are logging payments, issuing invoices, and doing what you’ve asked of them, but they have no experience or knowledge of accessing the actual figures.

What if I told you there was a way to simplify your processes and make your financial data accessible with the touch of a button?

Using Xero for business

Who owes you money? Who do you owe money to? Not everyone has an ‘Annette in Accounts’ to provide these answers. Most of us don’t even understand the bookkeeping jargon!

With Xero accounting software, you won’t need to Google accounting terminology when you get stuck. No, this smart software works behind the scenes, to help you and your business save valuable time.

Technology now plays a critical role in our business development and day-to-day duties. With Xero, it can benefit your business in many ways, including time management, productivity, and stress relief, as well as improving your cash flow.

SMEs in the UK generate 47% of the nation’s revenue, but without a positive process in place that optimises staff efficiency, you risk preventing business growth.

How can we help ourselves and our businesses?

Cloud accounting – it’s not fluffy!

Cloud accounting is a software solution where business owners can transfer and keep their account books online. Income, expenses, assets, and liabilities are moved to the cloud and accessed remotely by you from anywhere in the world.

Only your immediate team can access the information via your login details, giving them the facilities to find data about your sales, purchases, quotes, bills, and invoices.

You can see the current financial position of your business at any time, without having to disturb Annette in Accounts! Because Xero is cloud-based, you don’t have to update or install anything as back-ups are done automatically, while you sleep.

Never again will you have to harass your poor admin staff for financial data or customer information as this is now available immediately. You can create a dashboard that shows you, your team, and any business advisors, all the crucial financial information that may influence your daily decisions.

Work smarter

The flexibility and freedom you (and that poor stressed out administrator) will have by switching to Xero accounting software are just two of the many perks.

You can run your business from work, home, or virtually and be confident that the information you access is up-to-date, giving you a snapshot of your accounts within seconds.

Never be frightened of accounting or bookkeeping again. Let me help you work faster and more efficiently by guiding you through the entire transfer process from paper to cloud.
