Paul was introduced to Sue by his business partner who had known Sue for some time. Paul had started a new business Orgreaves Gardening Services. Xero was completely new to Paul and he needed training to get to understand it all. He admits to feeling a bit daunted by it all initially.

However on meeting Sue, he found her to be confident and very knowledgeable. He liked her friendly and approachable nature and if he wasn’t sure of anything he knew he could ask and she was always willing and available to help.

Following the training delivered by Sue, Paul is now feeling confident and safe in the knowledge that he can always call Sue if he needs further help.

Natalie Bunegar – CFE Installations

Natalie is the Office Manager and book keeper at CFE Installations.

The accounts used to be handled externally by a book keeper and were managed on Sage. Natalie took over the responsibility for the book keeping and Sue recommended Xero and they chose to move to Xero.

Natalie had no knowledge of Xero before she started working with Sue. Sue carried out the training face to face initially then switched to zoom when covid hit.

Natalie said “Sue has been great, she is always happy and never shouts!” Training was delivered at the right pace for Natalie to understand it.

Going into the process Natalie was not worried as Sue had explained everything to her and put her at ease.

The company use Xero including the functions CIS, Retention invoices and Projects so they are taking advantage of all of the elements available to help them manage the business.

Using Xero Natalie said she has found it brilliant. She is now comfortable with it and knows if there is anything she needs to know Sue is always there for her.

Natalie has also gone on to start studying for her AAT accounting qualification.

 

Sonia & Elizabeth – FACT First Aid Corporate Training

Sonia and Liz run a first aid corporate training company and also a swim school.

Prior to meeting Sue they were

managing their accounts with manual book keeping. As everything was moving to digital they identified that they needed to make changes.

They met Sue and decided that Xero would be a good solution.

Sue carried out the training face to face and got everything set up for them. Liz said she felt really nervous about the transition and worried that she was going to mess it up.

However following Sues comprehensive training she found it very easy to navigate and likes the automation it allows.

They also use Dext which makes life easier too.

They have since set up 2 separate Xero accounts for each of the businesses supported by Sue.

Sharon Weaver – Brokenstones

Sharon works in the accounts department at Broken Stones. They were using Sage as their accounting solution previously but found that it no longer provided them with the functionality they needed. Their accounts were also stored on  a server which made accessing information when working from home more difficult.

Broken Stones are an IT company so a cloud based solution was much more effective and enabled the owner to have access and see the company accounts at any time.

Sue set up training dates to go in and help Sharon to get Xero set up. Sue explained how it all worked and helped Sharon to transfer everything over.

Sue gave lots of training and was always on the end of the phone when needed.

Sharon was comfortable through the whole process of the switch and has found it a lot easier to use than Sage. She likes the ease of reconciliation and much less repetitive in tasks than Sage.

They have been using Xero since January 2021 and Sharon is comfortable in using Xero with the knowledge that Sue is available if needed at any time.

Transition from Sage Accounting to Xero

Ian Cook First Class Safety

Ian Cook is the owner of First Class Safety – an occupational health and safety consultancy and training business based in Rugby. Ian has known Sue for 17-18 years and met Sue when they were both working for different businesses.

Ian took over First Class Safety as an existing business 12 years ago and needed help with his Sage bookkeeping. Sue has been working with Ian for 12 years. Initially Sue assisted with all the invoicing and bookkeeping enabling Ian to focus on running his business. As the business has grown and staff have been brought in Sue has trained them on the systems.

Move from Sage to Xero

Charlotte Johnson Web Function Limited

Charlotte was a long term Sage user when she made the decision to change to Xero Accounting Software. She had a good look round the software but decided she needed more formal training so she could be comfortable with it all.

This was made more stressful as she was also in the process of transitioning from part time to full time in her business.

Charlotte asked her accountant for help but they wanted her to stay on Sage.

Charlotte had made the decision to convert to Xero when she met Sue at a networking event. She knew instantly that Sue was the right person to help her.

Sue took away any fears Charlotte had and made the whole process fun.

Charlotte is now much more confident in the day to day use of Xero. She finds Xero is much better suited to business owners whereas Sage is more suitable for accountants.

Migration to Xero Accounting Software

Prior to investing in Xero Accounting Software Louise’s accounts had been very traditionally managed – paper based and excel spreadsheets.

Louise was recommended to Xero by her business coach. She was blown away by what Xero could do and watched tutorial videos to try and get a better understanding of how it all works. She also spoke to her accountant and they agreed Xero was a good choice for her but they were too busy to be able to assist with any training.

Louise had met Sue before and remembered that she was a Xero trainer. So, having invested in the software and done nothing with it for some time, she decided that she wanted to get a better understanding of how it all works.  She was anxious to get going but not too sure how to get started.

Jane works as part of a small team at Fred Pritchard Estates and needed help with Sage and Xero as she was completely new to it. She was very apprehensive to begin with.

Sue was called in to train Jane as she has a long-standing relationship with the company. The training was tailored to meet her requirements. Jane found Sue to be very patient and she felt very comfortable that she could ask any questions.

Jane is now at a point where she is comfortable in the day to day use and likes the fact that Sue is available to assist if she has any concerns.

Xero Training and Implementation

Before meeting Sue, Alison will admit she was not very organised when it came to her accounts. Whilst she knew what her sales income was she had lost control of all her expenses. She used excel spreadsheets to manage her accounts and always ended up with a pile of expenses and receipts to sort out that would never quite fit all the different categories. It was therefore a real challenge for Alison when it came to her year end.

With Making Tax Digital coming in for larger businesses Alison knew it would only be a matter of time before all businesses would need to go digital so she decided to start using a digital accounting package.

Alison had known Sue for many years and she was her first choice to go to for help and training. Alison understands finance but when it comes to accounting and jargon she wanted to be sure to go to a trainer that she felt comfortable with and that she could ask anything without feeling stupid.

Alison reached out to Sue and within 3-4 sessions she found her brilliant. Alison now has a new lady looking after her accounts at her accountants. She has given her access to her Xero so she can see everything Alison inputs.

Alison is also using Receipt bank on Sues recommendation, so it is now as easy as taking a picture of receipts. Her bank statement is synced too.

Xero Training & Support

Julianne Reynolds PNW Fabrications Limited

Julianne looks after the bookkeeping for her husband’s business.

Julianne’s husband went from being a sole trader to a Limited company and needed to comply with Making Tax Digital. Julianne chose Xero accounting software as she felt that was more suitable for a small business than Sage which was more expensive.

She admits she is not a bookkeeper and she has been using Xero for about 10 months. She did not have a proper understanding of nominal codes and as a result she made lots of mistakes. These mistakes were not identified until the information was viewed by her accountant at the year end.

She became very worried that she just did not understand it all. She knew she had to learn about it. Her accountant wanted her to use Sage, but she wanted to stay with Xero and went online to look for help.
